Audrey's Pool (now gone)

Here is a swimming pool removal success story from Audrey in North West Louisiana. She bought this house 13 years ago and the former owners had put a very large pool in the back yard, as a matter of fact all of the yard WAS a pool. There are an enormous amount of trees in the neighborhood and pool upkeep was unbelievable, both financially and physically. To add to that she never used the pool after her step children grew up. Audrey is an avid gardener and a member of the Master Gardener program in the state, so this unused area as far as she was concerned was also troubling. She basically had a large concrete deck surrounding the pool. The pool itself was a liner type which made the job much less taxing in the end.

Audrey had an extremely cramped space for the folks to work in which is one of the reasons no one wanted to do it. Her contactor hired Specialty Trackhoe from the local area and said that, "The trackhoe operator was amazing". "He got the decking out without even damaging flowerbed borders that was stuck against the concrete decking", reported Audrey. "All of this went into the 10 foot end of the pool and 10 loads of dirt and topsoil later, we were done", she said. Holes were knocked into the sides to allow for drainage and small dump trucks were also used to lessen the potential damage to the property. The area was then graded to allow for further water drainage and lastly the entire area was sodded.

Looks great Audrey, thanks for sharing with us!

It would be hard to even know there had been a swimming pool here!
